Why We Exist

For generations, Native American stories have been told by outsiders — filtered, distorted, or erased entirely. The Indigenous Beacon exists to change that. We are a Native-led platform dedicated to accurate, respectful, and powerful storytelling that centers Indigenous perspectives.

Our mission is to amplify voices that have been silenced for too long, and to illuminate the histories, cultures, and contemporary issues that shape Native communities across Turtle Island.

We launched The Indigenous Beacon because we believe that when Native people tell their own stories, they don't just reclaim their past — they shape the future. This platform is a vessel for that truth: a light shining on the narratives that have been hidden for too long.
